My dear Sisters,

To all the communities of Mangalore Province,The month of September is very special to all of us as we celebrate the feast of the Nativity of Mary, the Mother of God born of St Anne and St Joachim, without the stain of sin. By her birth Mary was chosen to be the link between the Trinity and the humanity. Through her body, prepared by God without sin, Jesus comes into the world and fulfills His saving mystery.Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI rightly affirms that “Mary’s soul was the space from which God was able to gain access into humanity” and her birth brought hope to the entire world and the dawn of salvation.Acclaiming the birth of Mary, St Andrew of Crete, bishopwrites:“Let everything, ordinary things and those above, join in festive celebration. Today this created world is raised to the dignity of a holy place for him who made all things. The creature is newly prepared to be a divine dwelling place of the Creator.”As per the Mangalorean culture, on this day we bless the new corn and offer flowers to Mary. We celebrate our family feast, thanking the Lord for the fruits of the earth, the work of human hands. The whole world is stricken with grief wrought by covid-19 and other natural calamities. May the birth of Mama Mary fill all families with new hope, especially those who have lost their loved ones, those who are away from their families due to work and very specially the girl-children deprived of their basic rights. May this family feast unite all the members of the Bethany family and bring blessings on all our families.September 5th we celebrate the Teacher’s Day.A P J Abdul Kalam says: “Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber and future of an individual.” We salute in gratitude all our teachers who have touched our lives and whisper a prayer for them. I greet each one of you dear sisters who are involved in educational apostolate igniting the lives of many through words, deeds and example.

I wish each one of you a very happy ‘Monthi Fest’ and happy ‘Teacher’s Day’
