Shubhada Society was founded in 1977 for providing immediate relief to the women in distress and to provide them a home away from home. Prior to the founding of the organization, the founders were involved in philanthropic activities which gave them an insight into the problems faced by women.
Shubhada a non-governmental organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and bearing the registration number 50/80-81, was established especially to come to the rescue of women in distress. Counselling and exposure to therapeutic atmosphere reinforcing their self-worth and dignity are some of the activities towards the women in distress. Those who suffer from deep personal hurt as a result of ill-treatment received from their families and environment and those who suffer from the loss of personal dignity and those young girls who feel lost in the wide world because they lack a sense of direction can find shelter here. They are helped to change their internalized negative attitudes which block their personality and develop a positive outlook that will help them to become emotionally free and self reliant. The Society runs the home for the Women in Distress.
