My dear Sisters,

The COVlD- 19 outbreak has brought our world to a standstill with unparalleled and unforeseen impact in our lives, our economies. our societies, our livelihood and there are growing risks of a global recession and a massive loss of jobs. Large and densely populated areas with widespread poverty and high migration are more vulnerable to this pandemic. If the corona virus has accomplished anything good so far, In the wake of its destructiveness, it is that it has reminded us of how connected and interdependent we are Let's extend our support and prayers to reach out to the poor and the marginalized and those who are infected with this disease. We have realized that we are in the same boat, all of us fragile and disoriented, but at the same time important and needed, all of us called to row together, each of us in need of comforting the other"- Pope Francis The month of June has series of feasts. Following Pentecost, the Church begins her slow descent from the great peaks of the Easter Season to the verdant pastures of Ordinary Time. The feasts of June highlight the expansion of the Church. She also celebrates the feasts of the apostles Peter and Paul ,and the birth of St John the Baptist, proto-disciple and prophet. On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, we contemplate the pierced heart of Christ burning with love. for his people, surrounded by a crown of thorns as he continues to suffer for love of us. The Following day is the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. So when we meditate on the Sacred Heart, pondering the depth of God's love for us, we need to contemplate the Immaculate Heart as well as to see the response we are invited to make with our lives. We seek to look on our brothers and sisters with that love, one that manifests itself not in word or speech but in, deed and truth (1 Jn 3:18)
