The annual Sports Meet 2024 at St. Raymond’s P U College, Vamanjoor was held on November 12, 2024 at College ground, bringing together students, Lectures, and parents for a day of friendly competition and celebration of athletic achievements. Dr. Sr. Mariola BS, Coordinator, Bethany Educational Society, Mangalore Province presided the event.  Rev. Fr.  James D’Souza, Parish Priest, St. Joseph the worker church, Vamanjoor, Dr. Raghavendra Holla, Chairman, Swastika National Business School, Mr. Shekhar Kadthala, President, Mangalore Taluk PET Association and  Mrs. Reshma Pais, PTA Treasurer were the Chief Guests for the meet.

The Inaugural ceremony included March past from students, hoisting of the college flag, igniting the cauldron with the athletic no torch, unveiling the sports meet banner. With a Solemn declaration from the president Dr. Sr. Mariola the Athletic Meet was officially inaugurated.

Sr. Mariola in her presidential speech emphasized the importance of teamwork, determination, and fair play. Rev. Fr. James blessed the students and wished them good luck. Dr. Raghavendra Holla highlighted everyday practice required to be a good player. Mr. Shekar Kadthala explained the importance of sports and its benefits in daily life.

Various track and field events were conducted. The walk race, inter-class 4x100m relay and tug-of-war were the most thrilling events of the day. The faculty vs. parents walk race and tug-of-war was a crowd favorite. Games like inter-class kabaddi, throwball and Volleyball matches were conducted one week prior to the sports meet. The event concluded with a closing ceremony where winners were awarded medals and trophies.
