August 15 was a great day and a proud moment for every Indian. St. Raymonds PU College staff and students were all set to commemorate the sovereignty of our nation. Everyone on the campus was geared up & enthused for the momentous occasion.

The 78th Independence of India was celebrated on 15 August at St. Raymonds PU College with traditional fervor and gaiety. The college premises were decorated to give a festive look. Dr. Sr. Mariola BS, Deputy Secretary, Bethany Education Society, Mangalore Province Coordinator for Education and Correspondent of the College hoisted the national flag in the presence of the teachers and the students. As the tricolor was unfurled, all present sang in tune and unison the national anthem of India.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To instill a sense of patriotism among the students a variety of cultural programs was showcased by the Second PUC Commerce students which included Drama, Mime, group singing and dance highlighting the theme of patriotism. During
The cultural program the principal of the college Sr. Anita Lydia BS addressed the students and stressed the need to cultivate the values upheld by the selfless freedom fighters. She also inspired the students to contribute in their individual capacities to the progress of India.

Ananya shetty and Sinchana of II PUC Commerce anchored the program. Thouheed Khan welcomed the gathering and Harsha proposed vote of thanks. The Independence Day celebration was unique this year in the sense that apart from cultural activities a blood donation camp was held by College NSS , Rovers and Rangers unit in association with Lions Club Kavoor.

Snacks were distributed to all the students and staff members. PTA vice president Mrs. Devanandini Marla Jain and a few parents were present on the Occasion.
