"Called to plan, Plan to excel" with this theme one days orientation programme for the teachers of scared Hearts campus, St Joseph's, Kankandy, St Sebastian, Bendur and social workers of Jeevandhara was held at Sacred Hearts' High School hall, Kulshekar on 26.05.2017. Sr Mariola BS the Coordinator for Education of Mangalore Province, along with Sr Anna Maria BS the Superior and Provincial Councilor, Sr Jessy Leena Headmistress of Sacred Hearts' Hr Pry School, Sr Cynthia BS Headmistress of Sacred High School and Mrs Ida Felicitus Patrao resource person of the day inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Mrs Ida Patrao who has worked as teacher over thirty years for the past years in different places and presently working as a resource person and presenting workshops was the resource person. she invited the teachers to be an effective teachers by using soft skills. she dealt on KWl : what I Know, what I Want, and what I have Learnt. she explained various topics on communicative skills, time management, self motivation, importance of soft skills and specially on soft skills that a teacher should know to be a successful teacher. soft skills are personal abilities that improve human performance and facilitate effective interactions amongst people.
Afternoon session was by Ms Ananya Senior Trainer for DS along with her team Mr Varun Moras and Abijith Shetty enlightened on DS : Destination Success that makes a teacher innovative and creative.
Sr Mariola BS Coordinator for Education of Mangalore Province appreciated the teachers for working hard to get the good results for the academic year 2016- 2017. she also reminded the 4 priorities of BES that are
1. Education for harmonious relationships
2. Education for empower girl child
3. Education for peace and harmony
4. Education for excellence for all
The group discussions and various activities helped the teachers to be active, energetic and enthused the spirit for the new academic year 2017- 2018.
The Days progarmme was compeered by Mrs Valine and Mrs Gracy proposed the vote of thanks. Indeed it was a day of learning and giving.
