“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, He has sent me to bring Good News to the Poor” (Lk 4: 18)
Filled with the Holy Spirit the eleven Novices of Rosa Mystica Novitiate left to Kabale and Nagara Parishes – located in the diocese of Shimoga, along with Sr Sharon the Novice Directress on 10th of September, 2016. Sr Severine the local superior of Kabale Convent welcomed them warmly along with her community Sisters.
Novices were given ample opportunities to meet the people in their houses, Conduct rosaries in the families, adoration, liturgy, catechism, Sodalities, tuition classes to the slow learners etc. They also rendered their service in cleaning the church campus along with parishioners, went to the paddy fields and sugar cane fields and worked with the villagers. Collecting firewood, purchasing things and cooking their own food was an unique experience.
The Pastoral work and teaching the hostel children, walking miles in search of families has tapped their hidden potentialities to discover their own aptitude and various abilities to be effective in their future apostolate. The guidance given by Fr Ronald and Fr Pius the parish priests is praise worthy. The visit of the Provincial Superior Sr Cicilia Mendonca has given right direction in their stay in the villages. They returned to the Novitiate on 10th October 2016 and were welcomed warmly by the Formators and First year Novices.
