Two days Orientation Programme for all the teachers from Pre-Primary up to College, who serve under Bethany Educational Society, Mangalore Province was conducted on 25.05.2015 & 26.05.2015 at St Raymond’s Vamanjoor and Little Flower at Kinnigoli. The programme was divided for Primary, High School and College separately. 260 teachers were present for the seminar- refreshed and renewed to give their service to the students.
Rev. Fr Edward Rodrigues SJ and Mr Paul Andrade were the resource persons for both the days. Mr John D’Silva was the resource person for the College Staff. They dealt upon the themes:
1. Challenges to the Teaching Faculty
2. Responsibilities of the Staff
3. Handling problematic cases
Resource person called upon everyone to love teaching, as it is a noble profession. He advised to:
• Walk with the dreamers, the courageous, the planners, and the successful people
• Be fearless and be courageous to take risks
• Come out of the comfort zone and to face challenges
• Maintain the position of an advisor both on personal and professional matters
• Have hunger for knowledge
Afternoon session taken by Rev Sr Assumpta BS, the General Councillor of Bethany Congregation dealt upon the Vision, and Core Values of Bethany Educational Society. She requested the teachers to be impartial and soft in rendering the services. She stressed upon encouraging the students, to accompany them and to raise them up to what they can become. Sr Christella BS, the Education Coordinator of BES, Vamanjoor Congratulated everyone and called upon all the teachers to fulfill the theme of BES “Transformative Education for Fullness of life”.
