My dear sisters,
Advent is a time of spiritual awakening and renewal as we prepare to celebrate the birth of the Saviour of the World. As we begin this Advent journey, we prepare our hearts and minds for Christ who has already come in history; the Christ who is present now in the mystery; and the Christ who is promised to come in glory. It is an invitation from the Lord to be active participants in living and proclaiming the Good News!
During this crisis brought by Covid-19 pandemic, racism, political strife, fundamentalism and economic hardship, we plead the Lord to intervene in our lives. The world is suffering from fear, confusion, pain, loss of jobs, illness and grief for the loss of many loved ones. The world has been drastically changing; the individuals and families are suffering anxiety and depression due to untimely rain. The pandemic has reminded us that no one is saved alone. Jesus came to show us how to seek understanding, compassion, justice and unity for all people and nations.
Advent provides us a time to slow down and identify the movement of God in our lives. We intentionally set aside time to pray, to study God’s Word, to worship and reach out to others in love and service, for it is in these actions that we remain alert and ready for the coming of the Lord. We are invited to maintain in our daily lives, a thoughtful attention for that for which we have been called, individually and as a community of faith, to recognize that Jesus brings for us the New Life.
I wish all of you dear sisters; a grace filled Season of Advent!
