Mangaluru May 31st 2019: The send off programme of Sr Roshni BS, the Headmistress of St Raymond’s High School, Vamanjoor was held at School Hall, at 1.45pm. The guests were accompanied by the band from the School entrance gate. The students welcomed the guests by the Indian Cultural gestures like Arathi , Panneer and strewing the flowers. Sr Cicilia Mendonca, The Corporate Manager of Bethany Educational Society was the President, Sr Jessy Leena, the Correspondent of the School was the chief guest, Mr Harish S, the Vice President of PTA and Sr Roshni, the Headmistress were present on the dais. The Programme was inaugurated by lighting the Diya.
At the outset the Prayer Service was conducted by Mr Vincent Menezes, the School Teacher along with the students. The welcome dance was performed by the School students. From the part of the students, Ms Prajna voiced out her reminiscences of being a student of Sr Roshni BS. From the colleague’s side Mrs Jacintha expressed her sentiments of gratitude. It was followed by the felicitation programmme. Sr Jessy Leena read out the words of appreciation from the part of the School. Mrs Sheela, the Kannada language teacher presented the note of appreciation from BES Management. Sr Cicilia Mendonca greeted Sr Roshni with shawl, garland, fruits and bouquet of flowers. Later she applauded Sr Roshni for her life of dedicated service.
The headmistresses and staff members where she served earlier were present and honoured her with much love and affection. The students of the school and PTA members along with the staff applauded her on this occasion. She has completed 35 years of service as a teacher and Headmistress in the Northern, Bangalore and Mangalore Provinces in different Schools.
One could appreciate her patience especially for the weaker one to teach them. She made herself available for students in their struggle and thought them the art of facing life with serenity. As a Maths teacher she took trouble to drill mathematical concepts to students. As a headmistress she managed the administrative affairs as per her capacity. To every one she came across as a calm and serene person and moved ahead prudently and cautiously. She never boasted her successful achievement but worked silently without desiring for publicity or reward. She encouraged students not only in academics but also motivated them to participate in sports and games at the State and National level too. She had the ability to keep the staff together and art of fostering communion and collaboration. She also rendered her dedicated service at the Diocesan Institutions.
In her note of gratitude she expressed her sentiments towards the management, staff and students for their understanding, cooperation and support. Sr Jaya BS, the non teaching staff member of the School welcomed the gathering. Sr Jessy Preema BS, the in-charge Headmistress of the School compeered the days programme. It was winded at 3.30pm. Mr Donald DSouza, the PET Teacher thanked everyone for their meaningful presence. There were nearly 200 people attended the programme.
