“Our country India has a long history. It has a very rich culture. Unity in diversity is the unique feature of our nation which no other country in the world has. We should be proud of our country. Be proud to be an Indian and strive hard for the progress of our mother land India.” said Mr Roy Castelino, former President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy . He was speaking on the occasion of 71st Independence Day Celebration at St. Raymond’s grounds on August 15. Earlier he unfurled the tricolour and saluted the nation. He was the chief guest of the programme. Sr Sagaya Selvi, Principal, Degree College presided over the function. Sr Roshni, Headmistress, St. Raymond’s High School, welcomed the gathering. PU student Chaitra spoke on the occasion. Mr Vincent Menezes, Hindi Teacher, proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Ramaraya Shanbhogue, Kannada Teacher, compered the programme. Mr Donald Lobo, PET guided the programme. All the students of St. Raymond’s Institutions took part in the programme and saluted the nation.
‘India 70- SanskratikaVaibhava’ Exhibition by Children’s Rights Cell
The Children’s Rights Cell, St Raymond’s High School (Aided) has arranged an exhibition depicting the cultural history and heritage of India. This was inaugurated by Mr Roy Castelino, former President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy on August 15. The exhibition is open for four days and the students from the campus and neighbouring schools will visit these days.
